The Duo Plus is the Instant Pot I recommend by default. It has the yogurt function (which matters if you actually want to make yogurt), the sterilize mode (genuinely useful for baby bottles or canning jars), and a better display than the basic Duo. Most importantly, it skips the “Ultra” and “Max” features that add complexity and, in my experience, failure points. This is the model that won’t show up in r/Instantpot as “it stopped sealing after 18 months.”

It does everything you actually need, it’s been tested by millions of people, and replacement parts (sealing rings, steam valves) are easy to find. Which Instant Pots to skip
