Nintendo Switch was released in 2017 and has become quite popular. Nintendo Switch aims to make gaming smooth and easier for its users. Now you can play anywhere, anytime. Connect the switch to your TV, PC or laptop within seconds and get it done.
I am a sucker for the Nintendo Switch, which has been my favorite since I started using it in 2018. The switch can easily play many video games on your big-screen TV, giving you the ultimate gaming experience.
As a new user, the Nintendo Switch is easy to understand, use, and master. The latest Nintendo Switch OLED model was released in October 2021 and has joined the market along with other switch versions like Original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.
The new model has certain enhancements like an excellent 7-inch OLED screen for a more lavish display, a dock with a LAN port (wired), a wide adjustable stand, 64 GB of internal storage, and better Audio than ever.
Now, the Nintendo Switch is very user-friendly, but let us make it even more confident by discussing certain Nintendo Switch Tips and Tricks.
1. Turn on Your TV
Nintendo can turn on your TV for you even without your TV remote. If your Nintendo Switch is in docked mode, you can use it to turn on your TV.
To do this, press the power button on the Joy-Con, and you can undo it manually by implementing the following steps – System Settings > TV Settings > Match TV Power State and set it to “OFF.”
But remember that all TV models are not compatible with this feature.
2. Find a Lost Joy-Con
If you lost your Joy-Con controller, this Nintendo Switch trick is for you. You can easily find your Joy-Con within seconds, as Nintendo has a built-in way to locate your Joy-Con if it is close to the console.
Just click on the grey Controllers button > Find Controllers. There you can make your Joy-Con vibrate to locate it quickly.
Furthermore, there is an L. / R option depending on which JOY-Con u lost and need to vibrate. Thus, you can easily find your Joy-Con in a hassle-free way.
3. Enable Dark Mode
Nowadays, everyone loves Dark Mode on their gadgets, be it mobile phones or laptops, and now you can also use it in your Nintendo Switch.
Just go to System Settings > Themes and select Basic Black.
With this, all the displays will adopt the dark mode. I hope you enjoy it! Note that this will not affect the game itself in any way.
4. Save Battery Life
The Nintendo Switch original has a battery life of up to 6.5 hours, and the updated version of 2019 and the OLED model of 2021 has a battery life of up to 9 hours.
A huge improvement, right? But you can make the switch last even longer with the Save Battery Life option. Then, go to System Settings > Sleep Mode and select Auto-Sleep.
You can also choose the wait time before switching to sleep mode.
5. Do a Hard Reset
If you face any issues with your Nintendo Switch, opt for a Hard Reset. To reset, press and hold the power button on the console for about 10 to 15 seconds, and the console will automatically reset and restart.
For Hard Reset, go to Console Setup > Console > Formatting Options > Format Console and delete all device memory.
6. Pair Bluetooth Headphones
You can now connect your Bluetooth Headphones with your Nintendo Switch for a seamless Audio experience.
Go to System settings > Bluetooth Audio> Pair Device and connect your Bluetooth Audio device.
7. Transfer Data to the new Nintendo Switch
You can quickly transfer all your data from your previous Nintendo switch if you have upgraded your Nintendo Switch model with just a few easy steps.
First, go to System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data.
Next, select Send Save Data to Another Console and you are done!
8. Archive the Games You Do Not Play
One way to archive games is to free up the switch’s hard drive space by going to Manage Software > Archive Software.
Another way is to go to System Settings > Data Management, then select Quick Archive.
9. Move Game save Data to Your MicroSD Card
Another great thing about Nintendo Switch is that it supports microSD cards! Go to System Settings > Data Management and select Move Data between System / MicroSD Card.
Now choose whichever game you want to move to your storage.
10. Use Your Amiibos
Amiibos are figurines of popular Nintendo game characters that you can scan and put into your console.
The right Joy-Con and Pro Controller have built-in NFC touchpoints, making them easier to integrate. But not all Nintendo games support all the characters.
But fret not; Nintendo provides an extensive list of all the characters that go with the games.
11. Make New Friends
Nintendo has a feature called Friend Codes, which is nothing but just unique codes that give every user an identity on the platform. You can easily make Nintendo friends with the help of these codes.
If you want to add someone as your friend, share your Friend Code with them. You can get this code in the top left corner of your profile.

With Nintendo, you can capture in-game moments and save them to your phone. To share a screenshot, press A > Sharing and Editing menu > Send to Smartphone > scan the QR code (to connect both devices), and you will be done.
14. Remap Buttons
It is a recent update, but now you can place your controls according to your own will on your switch! Goto Console Setup > Controllers and Sensors > Change Button Mapping.
